Senorita AweSUMO - Fiona Clements
#peakplastiques disposable nature is inherent in our throwaway single-use society, Senorita AweSUMO creates a conversation with you about product stewardship. We have hit peak plastique on a global scale. Plastic wrapping the earth and suffocating our oceans. Our animals are being trapped in nets and feeding plastic to their young because they cannot differentiate between it and food. Recycling is no longer a solution to the problem. New Zealanders use 1.6 billion plastic bags per year. We have to get it off our streets and away from our products. Lets design plastic out of our lives and rethink what's possible! We have the technology and the intelligence to do this! Consuming consciously is a no-brainer when you witness the damage we have done to this earth. Our coral reefs are dying, we have overfished our stocks, our marine life eats plastic, its warmer, wilder, rivers are ruined, land covered in farm effluent and chemicals, lakes are drained to grow textiles we landfill and incinerate, will we STOP!?!!
Creating a regenerative circular system so as to leave something better for future generations. Hard to imagine what that might look like as we live in the NOW, but it is the NOW that matters the most, a critical point where we have used more than we have available.
Amazing show Fiona so passionate and authentic!
